Neither pure photograph nor conventional painting, these works inhabit the borderlands where photography and paint dissolve into one another.
Refining the principles of Tarpworks 1.0 (2017-2022), this series is shaped by a careful attention to detail in material and process. Every piece begins with a self shot photograph, capturing casual, motion driven frames where figures are cut off and environments dissolve into an elusive atmosphere, rescuing moments that emerge only during review.
Printed on recycled polyester banner, the surface allows for a soft and luminous finish. Through deliberate layers of acrylic paint, the boundary between photography and painting blurs completely, resulting in a work that feels surprisingly familiar and intimate, offering a subtle invitation to the viewer to weave their own memories into the artwork.
